about

“The Bridges I Burn” is the title of the first collaborative EP from the Ownlife platform, created between its founder, Leiras, and one of techno’s leaders with regards to its present cavernous sound, Svreca. No introduction is needed for the latter, who is known for his work which has been released on highly relevant labels (Our Circula Sound, Jealous God, Warm Up), and in addition to being a meticulous remixer, Svreca is well known for being the brain (also the hands) behind SEMANTICA, one of the often referenced techno labels within the scene, with more than a decade-long trajectory.

The pair of producers have honed their particular sound to find the point in between their personal recordings, bridging a connection between affectivity and the patient elaboration of cyclical and evolutionary loops.

Arriving in Ownlife’s most frequent format, four original tracks, is a palette of sounds that include: bleeps, organic hi-hats, atmospheric pads and grey tones that occasionally give rise to luminous landscapes. The ninth instalment is another step in the quest of solidifying techno’s sound from this century’s second decade and the evolution of this genre, which has only become perceptible over the years.
